The following pages of original documents will provide an insight to the bureaucratical and in part helpless approach of the regime to deal with its opponents. Although these files are a serious matter, one can‘t help but to smile once in a while about their conviction to register and file even the simplest banalities. We certainly understand the Stasi‘s purpose to set up and maintain this huge filing system of personal data: To crush
any sign
of resistance and to observe and control an entire People. We dedicated this book also to those, who to this day fight any form of suppression and sometimes even lose their lives doing so. Only he is free, who uses his freedom to defend the freedom of others; yesterday, today and tomorrow.
FILE - Assessment of Lothar Mork about his performance at the College of Foreign Trade by Central Party Leadership, Berlin 1967
FILE - Notice about behaviour of Lothar Mork, Berlin 1968
FILE - Vidin/ Bulgaria - "bringing in the accused" (after second escape attempt) by state interrogator, Vidin 1967
FILE - Vidin/ Bulgaria - Decree to execute the decision for an arrest of Lothar Mork, by district prosecutor, Vidin 1967

The files are all originals, some important sections have been marked up or commented. Each of the documents is referred to a certain chapter of the book. We tried our best to make names unreadable; to show those names was of no importance to us anyway. We managed to insert about 10% of the file documents into this book. The files are in German; english translations or comments are by the authors.
